Question: What is a public charity?

Answer: Public charities typically derive their funding or support primarily from the general public, receiving grants from individuals, government, and private foundations. Most public charities conduct constituent services or other tax-exempt activities. They include churches, schools, hospitals, arts and environmental groups, and many other types of organizations.
