Once an Iowa nonprofit is incorporated, does it have to file anything to remain a nonprofit corporation?
Answer:
A nonprofit corporation in Iowa must file a biennial report with the Iowa Secretary of State.
This can be electronically filed or by paper copy. If the biennial report is not filed the nonprofit corporation
is automatically dissolved.
Just as important as filing the biennial report with the Iowa Secretary of State is the giving
of notice of change of registered address or change of registered agent. The simple one page form is
available on the Secretary of State's web site.
