A brief interview with INRC director Richard Koontz appeared in the Saturday, March 29 edition of The Des Moines Register. The interview was conducted by longtime Iowa human rights advocate Gary Lawson. The Iowa Council of Foundations will present the Corporate Philanthropy Institute: Doing Good Well on May 22, 2014 at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, 909 Robert D. Ray Dr., Des Moines. The conference is for businesses of all sizes with different approaches to philanthropy. Registration and agenda.
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is once again offering the Nonprofit Management Academy. The one-day courses meet 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on selected Thursdays through November. Recent Reports

Independent Sector's estimate of the value of volunteer time for 2013 is $22.55 per hour. According to the corporation for National and Community Service, about 64.5 million Americans gave 7.9 billion hours of volunteer service worth $175 billion last year. According to the state-by-state breakdown, Iowa's value of volunteer time is $20.93. More.
The Cornerstone of Community: Iowa Nonprofits, compiled in early 2013 by the INRC and the Iowa Nonprofit Collaborative for the Governor's Nonprofit Project, is available online. The report highlights the contributions of the state's nonprofits to our quality of life.
