My
name is Sandy Boyd. I am a Professor of Law and President Emeritus
of the University of Iowa. I am writing to enlist your help so that
your University of Iowa can be of greater help to you and your nonprofit
organization.
I teach courses at the University concerning the legal and managerial
operations of nonprofit organizations. I do this in the Colleges of
Law, Business, and Liberal Arts. In the process of doing so, I have
come into contact with many colleagues in a variety of university
programs who work with Iowa nonprofit organizations. All of us are
eager to be of greater assistance to Iowa's nonprofit sector. We have
concluded that it would be helpful if we were to establish a single
nonprofit resource center where questions from the nonprofit field
across the state can be channeled in order to provide you and your
peers promptly with useful information and assistance from across
the University.
In
order to make this center as relevant as possible to your needs,
we need your advice and suggestions.
