The Institute of Public Affairs has been a resource organization for Iowa's local governments since 1949. The mission of the Institute of Public Affairs is to provide information and services that assist in maintaining and strengthening the effectiveness of Iowa's state and local governments. As an outreach service of the University of Iowa, the Institute provides educational programs, information and publications to state and local officials through the state.
